The club’s focus is simple: to offer enjoyable, low-pressure sailing while helping people grow their skills and confidence. Over the years, the club has developed a strong local presence, attracting sailors of trailer sailers, multihulls and small off-beach craft. It has long been a meeting point for people who enjoy being on the water and value the friendships that come with shared time at sea.

The club’s program now balances adventure with relaxation. Saturday and Sunday events are dedicated to racing, giving seasoned sailors a chance to test their tactics and enjoy spirited competition. Midweek social sailing on Wednesdays offers a gentler pace on Pumicestone Passage, with regular sightings of dolphins and dugongs adding to the experience. Boats typically launch from the Bellara ramp near the VMR where the club has its base. After sailing, members often gather around a barbecue, swapping stories and enjoying the friendly atmosphere that defines the club’s community spirit.
