Seven days of varied racing will be on offer for over 20 classes ranging from IRC1 racing yachts through to Mirror dinghies.

Over 40 volunteers are involved with the race management and organising of this historic annual event that has its origins in the late 19th century. The Port of Falmouth Sailing Association (PoFSA) is, once again, the organising body for Falmouth Sailing Week.

Starting with a skippers’ briefing at the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club on the evening of Saturday August 10th. The starters gun goes off the following morning.

The regattas are hosted by six clubs starting with Helford River Sailing Club on the 11th, then it’s off to Mylor Yacht Club on the 12th; Restronguet Sailing Club, 13th. On Wednesday 14th August there will be the two standalone races hosted by POFSA: The Mainbrace Rum Race for the Carrick fleet and The Ancasta Champagne Race for those classes racing in Falmouth Bay. Royal Cornwall Yacht Club’s regatta day follows on the 15th; St Mawes Sailing Club, 16th and Flushing Sailing Club on the 17th for the final regatta and overall FSW24 prizegiving.

On each day the clubs will offer post regatta hospitality, refreshments and award their own club trophies and prizes to competitors.

Racing takes place either in the harbour, Carrick Roads or out in Falmouth Bay. Daily entries, three-day series and seven, daily entries all possible, dependant on your class. Something for everyone in this popular Corinthian regatta.

For the first time we will have MarkSetBots creating a trapezium course for the Bay Fleet. Quite a sight to see, offering greater precision for course laying and the quality of racing for competitors.

This year the entry fees are frozen to those of 2023 and there will be free entry to all Juniors 18 and under. Register by midnight, 21st of July for early bird rates, saving a further £55.

There’s a fantastic social scene shoreside organised by PoFSA’s shoreside partners: Falmouth Town council, Falmouth BID and Southwest Bars and Events with music and family events held in Falmouth throughout the regatta week. Competitors are entitled to a 50% reduction in tickets for the Waterfront concerts.

The Notice of Race has been posted and entries are open! Keep a weather eye out on the PoFSA socials (@falmouthsailing) during the run up to August.

The sponsors for FSW24 are: Marlow Ropes, Pendennis Shipyard, Mylor Chandlery & Rigging, Cornish Lithium, Cornwall Council, Mylor Yacht Harbour, Hine Downing Solicitors, Velos Insurance Group, Evelyn Partners, River Boatyard, Mainbrace Rum, Ancasta Falmouth and The Flip Flop Shop; Super Yacht Services Falmouth, Indidog Eatery, the St Mawes Scent Room, Mariners Supply Company, Turnip Taxis, Falmouth Town Council and Southwest Bars and Events.
