I’m new on here and also the new owner of a laser 2 ‘New Wave’

I have identified most of the parts but these were on the bag that came with it.

Any suggestions what these are please ?

Thanks in advance.
Dan.

1st picture is a 'Down haul', 'Kicker' or 'Out haul', sorry to be so vague.

Thanks Robert.

It must me a spare as there is a better looking kicker in a bag

Also, is there a list of rope sizes anywhere ?

Thanks. Dan.

There used to be a rigging guide on Laser 2 website, if it still exists.

First is probably a downhaul, second looks like a broken end of old kicker.

There are still a small happy band of us sailing Laser 11s and what a great boat!  The Class Association is dormant as there is presently not sufficient demand for open meetings or a nationals.  If there was demand we could look at jumping in on a dinghy week or similar.  We tried this at Abersoch a few years a go, great fun.

Laser2sailing.org.uk takes to official page but there are many sites with help and details.

If you google U-tube Mike Croker -  Laser Two there are a series of short videos that take you through rigging every part of the boat.

It is a great sea boat loving the waves and three sail reaching is out of this world.  For these conditions handicap is banditary (if there is such a word).  In land on small ponds the handicap is really possible but I tend to stop using the trapeze and hike and fly spinnaker only when very broad and enjoy sailing that way.

When performance stopped producing/ supporting the class they sold all spares and chandlery responsibilities to "Sailboats" so you can get all class legal kit from them.  Also many old boats filling boat parks.

It is a brilliant boat and pretty indestructible so enjoy all it offers.

Thanks everyone for the info

Doing some more research, do you think the item 1 photo may be a downhaul / Cunningham?

Cheers. Dan.

Not down haul as this finishes through cleat on mast, not two hooks.  Looks like a bodged kicker but much better to have the specified fitting that goes into boom, other hook is fine for base of mast.  If you want to race kicker needs to be easily controlled.

Top Pic: No good as kicker. Neither end would be captive.....bound to come unhooked when you need it.
