I took out a 11 year old girl who had only jus started sailing in a F4/5
in a feva and getting it arced up on those long broad reaches was
relatively wick upto my expectations, boats who were apparantly a
lot faster on py coudln't touch us. I also believe they have a fairly
high nationals turn out dont they??

Well its getting higher but currently its only going to be around 17th for 2005. But the actal level of sailingin the fleets isnt that high was what I was saying.
They may be good for getting people hooked on sailing but they arent a very good fleet to teach racing in, which is what the RYA want them to be.

Pondling must be all cheered up by now... talk about vote of confidence...

Mind you, that's a good idea to exploit... Anyone knows of any fleet with hardly any boats so I could pretend to be good at last??

Go to http://www.rclaser.org.uk and buy a remote controlled Laser (no
building required).
There is a well organised Travellers' Trophy series around the country.
There are also some well organised races at various other locations - it's all
on the web site.
There are also regular postings of results on the Y&Y web site including the
recent National Championships.
Have a go!
Join some real hot shots.
It's quite a challenge.
