Throughout April, clubs, training centres and marine organisations signed up to the RYA Joining Point programme will enjoy double commission for every new RYA member they introduce.

The Joining Point scheme provides a quick and easy way for registered organisations to earn commission when they spread the word about RYA membership and encourage their members and customers to join the association.

Throughout April registered Joining Points will receive double the standard commission values of the scheme, receiving £20 commission for every family membership or £15 for every individual adult member they sign up. The commission earned can then be fed back into the organisation to help pay for renovations, new kit, towards new boats; the choices are endless.

Existing RYA Joining Points don't need to do anything to register for this special promotion, all they need to do is tell their customers about the benefits of RYA membership and get them to sign up.

The double commission will automatically be applied to their account and the commission paid will depend upon the number of new members that sign up and the type of membership signed up to, so the more people who sign up the more commission earned.

For those clubs, training centres and marine organisations not already registered as a Joining Point, signing up is completely free and easy to do, visit rya.org.uk/go/joiningpoint to get started.

A whole host of promotional materials are available to Joining Points to help promote RYA membership and the Joining Point programme that can be ordered via the 'Web to Print Portal".

Clubs should visit ryaclub.docs4print.com/login while training centres and marine organisations should visit rya.docs4print.com

The promotional materials available are:

  • A variety of A4 and A3 posters that can be tailored with your club name
  • Membership forms prefilled with your joining point code
  • Membership leaflets
  • Membership leaflet holders
  • Window stickers
  • Drinks mats

Plus, a quick reference guide - your guide to earning money for your club, training centre or organisation with RYA Joining Point.

"We have run the double commission promotion a number to times now and it proves very popular with our Joining Points", commented Ben Falla, RYA Head of Membership. "The programme is a real win for everyone involved. The Joining Points earn valuable commission, new members enjoy the benefits of being a member and the RYA membership grows.

"Growing our membership is vital to support our work ensuring legislators, regulators and other authorities understand and take account of recreational boating activity. Membership funds are also reinvested into the organisation to help with participation, cruising and government affairs and performance activities, so the support of our Joining Points is crucial", Ben explained.

As well as supporting the RYA's lobbying activities there are many other great benefits of RYA membership including access to specialist cruising, legal and technical boating advice from in-house experts, exclusive offers and discounts from over 80 member partners, helping members keep down the cost of their boating; as well as all the latest news and information.

New members can join the RYA:

Online: Visit www.rya.org.uk/go/join and input the Joining Point code for the referring club, training centre or marine organisation

  • By phone: Call the RYA membership team on 023 80 60 4159 and quote the relevant Joining Point number
