Born out of a simple desire: to remind us all that we sail because it's fun, the North Sound Regatta intentionally rethinks the traditional racing format. By re-engineering the schedule for later starts and early finishes, we’ve made space for life to happen alongside the racing – think proper coffee, a real breakfast, and a briefing that feels like a conversation rather than a chore. Races finish early enough for afternoons on the beach with family, friends and fellow crews, where rivalry fades and the community takes over.

But don’t mistake a relaxed atmosphere for soft competition. The racing is as fierce as ever, featuring a curated fleet of the world’s most formidable Maxi, Grand Prix, and Performance Cruising yachts. From classic windward-leeward battles to the high-speed adrenaline of “Triple Head Sunday” – a two-mile time trial where crews have been known to jump overboard just to lighten the load. North Sound delivers proper racing with a different energy.
