Baltic Yachts is delighted to welcome new members to the Baltic family, whose 78ft (23.99m) custom blue water cruising sloop will soon join our fleet.

Designed for a family with ambitious cruising plans, the Baltic 78 Custom will combine safety, ease of handling and long-range capability. The owners intend to explore areas like the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, seeking generous internal volume and true long-range comfort without compromising the high-performance sailing experience enabled by Baltic Yachts' lightweight (composite) expertise.

Naval architecture is by renowned j/v design & co, with interiors by Design Unlimited, whose previous collaborations with Baltic Yachts include yachts like the Baltic 175 Pink Gin and Baltic 108 WinWin. Discussions started in late autumn 2025. Engaged owners, an experienced design team combined with efficient production planning enables the family to start enjoying their new boat in summer 2027.

This project reflects Baltic Yachts' core strengths: listening closely to each client's specific brief and translating it into a yacht that truly reflects the owner's lifestyle and intended use. Advanced composite construction, refined engineering and proven technology will deliver a yacht that pairs blue water performance with the comforts of home.

A semi-fixed bimini, removeable but not folding, will provide essential protection from the elements, while also facilitating mainsail handling when stowing, supporting comfortable sailing in a wide range of conditions. A lifting keel will allow the owners to combine confident offshore performance with the freedom to explore shallow bays and anchorages. Every aspect of the yacht is being carefully considered to ensure she remains practical, safe, reliable, and enjoyable for family cruising.

Autonomy has been carefully prioritised, with a substantial battery bank enabling extended periods of silent operation at anchor —an increasingly important consideration for modern cruising families undertaking extended cruising.

Currently, Baltic Yachts has recently launched the Baltic 121 Custom, a powerful and comfortable 37-metre blue water cruiser. In addition, under construction and scheduled for delivery in 2027 is the first Baltic 107 Catamaran, a sophisticated 33-metre world cruiser representing a new chapter for the yard, alongside the first Café Racer 80.
