Prepare for an adrenaline-pumping announcement: The International RS Feva Class Association and the International RS Tera Class Association World Championships are set to take the stage back-to-back in 2027!

Hosted by the illustrious Circolo Vela Arco, these championships will unfold on the legendary Lake Garda, famed for its thrilling sailing conditions. With a reputation for hosting top-tier events like the RS Aero European Championships in 2025, this venue promises an electrifying experience for all.

A few inspiring words from Massimo Cagnoni, the President of Circolo Vela Arco. "It is with great pride that I officially announce that Circolo Vela Arco has been awarded the International RS Feva and RS Tera World Championships, which will take place in Arco from 21st to 31st July 2027.

"This achievement is the result of years of hard work, passion, and dedication from our members, athletes, coaches, and volunteers. It is an important recognition not only for our club but also for the entire Garda Trentino region. Circolo Vela Arco offers unique sailing conditions, extensive organisational experience, and a sailing tradition that deserves an international stage.

"The event will bring teams and sailors from many countries to Arco and will represent an extraordinary opportunity for sport, tourism, and the local economy. We expect to welcome nearly 400 sailors, coaches, support staff, family members, and sailing enthusiasts.

"From today onward, our commitment is twofold: to deliver a world-class sporting event through outstanding race management and organisation, and to showcase to the international sailing community the hospitality, professionalism, and beauty of our lake and region.

"I would like to thank the RS Feva and RS Tera Classes for the trust they have placed in us, our sponsors who believed in this project from the very beginning, and all the institutions and partners who continue to support our work.

"A special thank you goes to our young sailors. This event is, above all, for them - to inspire them to dream big while staying rooted in their home club, and to remind them that dedication and passion can lead to extraordinary achievements.

"We look forward to welcoming you to Arco and Lake Garda for what promises to be a fantastic celebration of sailing. Together, we are ready to write a new chapter in international sailing. Thank you."

International RS Feva Chair Bruno Tamburini says: "For the third time in less than 10 years RS Feva Worlds return to Italy. After two successful and very attended events in Tuscany, in 2027 the RS Worlds will be hosted in the north side of Lake Garda.

"The north of Lake Garda is a well-known sailing spot hosting more than 70 sailing events during the year. In fact here the wind blows steadily almost all year round, ensuring over 280-320 windy days very much suitable for sailing events.

"2027 Worlds will be hosted by the Circolo vela Arco, one of the most effective clubs of this area, where sailing events of various classes, mainly dinghies, take place every year, ensuring a solid organisation and a large reception space for the boats.

That's why the RS Feva International Class is quite excited to hold the next 2027 Worlds at Circolo Vela Arco, and we would like to invite all the RS Feva sailors to mark this event in their calendar in the summer of 2027."

The RS Feva Worlds Championship event registration, boat measurement and pre-event training activity will take place from Wednesday 21st and 22nd July 2027. The racing is scheduled for Friday 23rd July through to the 27th July 2027. Following will be the RS Tera World Championship event registration boat measurement and pre-event training activity will take place from Monday 26th and 27th July 2027.

With racing scheduled for Wednesday 28th July through to the 31st July 2027. The event dates have been designed to accommodate families who are planning to attend both World Championships, minimising travelling and allowing our RS Families time to relax and truly enjoy their summer sailing adventures.

Marcus Collingbourne the International RS Tera Acting Vice Chair and UK Class Development Manager commented: "The International RS Tera Class Association are delighted to have the chance to take our sailors to one of the premier sailing venues in the World - Lake Garda.

"The IRSTCA are grateful to Circolo Vela Arco for agreeing to host our 2027 RS Tera World Championships and I'm sure our sailors, and our parents, will be looking forward to the Championships - surely a destination on every sailors' bucket list - Ci vediamo lì!"

The club's race area is just a short sail from the beach allowing spectators to watch the racing while enjoying the breathtaking surroundings.

RS Sailing will be supporting both World Championships and Charter boats will be available on the RS Sailing Club website soon.

Michiel Geerling, Head of Commercial at RS Sailing, commented: "Bringing the RS Feva and RS Tera World Championships together in back-to-back weeks is a fantastic opportunity for the entire RS family.

"At RS Sailing, we often talk about inspiring generations on the water, and these events are a perfect example of that vision in action. Young sailors will not only compete at the highest level, but also experience the wider RS community, make lifelong friendships, and see the pathway that sailing can offer as they progress through the sport.

"We would also like to thank both the International RS Feva Class Association and the International RS Tera Class Association for their collaboration and for announcing the dates as early as possible. Giving sailors and their families plenty of notice helps them plan their summer holidays, training schedules and wider sailing campaigns, ensuring as many people as possible can be part of what promises to be an unforgettable celebration of youth sailing on Lake Garda."

In the same area of the Garda Lake the 2026 RS Feva Europeans will be held at end of September and this could be an opportunity to test local winds.

More information on the 2026 Europeans and 2027 Worlds will be provided by the RS Feva International Secretary.
