2026 Newport Bermuda Race to start Friday, June 19 with Starting Line Festival at Fort Adams

The 2026 Newport Bermuda Race starts Friday, June 19 as the fleet of over 150 boats begins its 636 nautical mile journey across the Gulf Stream.
For the second time, the public is invited to watch the race start at Fort Adams during the Starting Line Festival—featuring stunning views of the race start, family activities, food trucks, bars, and more from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the grounds of Fort Adams. The event is free, but sailing fans are encouraged to register on Eventbrite. Attendees can beat traffic by arriving at the Fort by bike, ferry, or rideshare. The start will also be live streamed online via YouTube and throughout the park as part of the Starting Line Live Show Powered by Ørsted with expert commentary, aerial views, and onboard footage. Please note that during the race start window, there will be a restricted flight area and no drones are allowed.
Celebrating a century of partnership between the Cruising Club of America and the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club in organizing the race, the race is easier to follow than ever. Starting on June 20, the Gulf Stream Show Powered by Palm Beach Motor Yachts will follow the fleet offshore with a daily broadcast during the week of the race.
