Australia's Lars Kleppich has stormed back in the Mistral Oceanic
Championship on Sydney Harbour today, scoring a first and a third in the two
races today. The event is the last major regatta before the September
Olympic Games.

The successful day puts Kleppich only three points behind New Zealand's
Aaron McIntosh on the overall pointscore. McIntosh had a mixed day today,
scoring a 12th in the first race of the day, but coming back to win the
final race of the day. McIntosh is now on 14 points, with Kleppich on 17.
Fiji's Tony Philp is in third place on 23 points.

Meanwhile in the women's event, it was also a great day for Australia's
Jessica Crisp. Crisp scored second placings in both of today's races,
bringing her up into fifth place overall.

The USA's Lanee Butler, who is only four points ahead of Barbara Kendall of
New Zealand, is leading the women's event. Kendall sailed well again today,
winning the final race of the day. Third place in the women's event is
currently being held by Poland's Anna Galenka, who is on equal points with
Kendall. Whilst 1996 Olympic Gold Medallist, Lee Lai Shan of Hong Kong is
only one point further behind.

With only three races remaining in the event, tomorrow is set to be a
trans-tasman showdown between Kleppich and McIntosh in the men's event,
whilst the women's event still has four or five competitors in contention.
