Newport Exhibition Group, owners and producers of the Newport International Boat Show, announced today that it has secured a record number of exhibitors, and organized more educational activities and attractions for showgoers than ever before.

This year’s show includes a powerful line-up of new boats and products making their U.S. debut, and for some, their world premier. These vessels and products will be identified with Newport for New Products decals and balloons and located throughout the show sites.

Sailboats on display for the first time in the United States are the Fareast 23R, Dehler 34, Seawind 1190 Sport from Multihull Source, Maine Cat 38, Bali 4.0 Lounge, Salona 380, Italia Yachts 9.98 Fuoriserie and Morris M36X, among others. Powerboats debuting include the Southport 33 LX, Palm Beach Motor Yacht 65 and 42, Regulator 31, Back Cove 32, Nordic Tug 40 and 44, Bertram 35 Moppie, Hunt 72 and Surfhunter 32, Azimut Verve 40, Chris-Craft Commander 42, Cuddy 21 Bristol Harbor Series and the North Rip 21. In addition, there are a wide variety of new products for boat navigation and safety.

“The companies that choose to launch their latest creations in the Newport for New Products program are at the forefront of innovation in the industry,” said Nancy Piffard, show director of Newport Exhibition Group. “This tangible display of invention is often the dividing line between which companies simply survive and which thrive. These companies develop their product lines to meet the high demands of today’s most discerning buyers, which is exactly the clientele that attends the Newport International Boat Show.”

Like many other organizations associated with the marine industry, the Newport International Boat Show helps to increase the boating population. The Confident Captain at the Helm program encourages families and individuals to sign up for on the water courses to build skills and confidence. The objective is ultimately to convert these boaters into future buyers. The program has expanded its offerings to include more courses designed specifically for women and youth. As a result of a recent partnership with Boston Whaler and Beneteau, all courses will be taught on the latest offerings from these two iconic companies. A highly-anticipated addition to this year’s program is the M-32 Experience. Participants will experience the thrill of a lifetime by sailing on one of the highest-performance catamarans ever built.

“We take pride in organizing a show that is successful and worthwhile for exhibitors, attendees and sponsors,” said Piffard. “To stay relevant, we need to continuously attract new companies with new boat brands for showgoers to shop and compare. We also have to add programs that excite attendees and create experiences that even our long-time supporters will talk about for years to come.”

Newport is a popular vacation destination. The show, located in this iconic New England town is a resource for educating the boating public and an active marketplace that results in the sale of millions of dollars in boats and boat-related products. Additionally, the Show has an economic impact on the town in the millions of dollars and represents a great end-of-summer boost.

Expected to draw tens of thousands to historic Newport, the Newport International Boat Show will take place Thursday, September 15th through Sunday, September 18th, 2016 on the Newport waterfront along America’s Cup Avenue in Newport, Rhode Island. One of the largest in-water boat shows in the country, the event will host nearly 600 exhibitors from around the world with an exceptional assortment of boats of every type and style from 15 to 110 feet, and a wide variety of accessories, equipment, electronics, gear and services for boaters.
