Seawind are set to launch a new version of the ever popular Seawind 1000, with the new 35 ½ ft model featuring newly extended transoms for increased performance, easier boarding and a more comfortable ride.

With close to 170 Seawind 1000’s built, there have been countless refinements over the years that continue to improve Australia’s most popular catamaran.

The latest refinement was originally developed in the USA by several Seawind 1000 owners based in Florida who race their Seawinds regularly, and wanted to squeeze some more performance out of the boat. They gained a great deal of success from this winning several Key West races from Miami and continue to be one of the higher performing cruising catamarans in the region.

The improved performance is a result of a longer waterline length which allows the transom to have clean exit from the water minimizing turbulence and hobby-horsing. The additional buoyancy in the stern also means that when there are more guests onboard the performance isn’t being compromised as much due to the boat’s trim.

Seawind Catamarans have taken this concept a step further by designing large steps into the transom, plus building in a boarding ladder that fold into a hatch, flush with the bottom step. The inboard profile of the extension also allows for easier boarding by dinghy.

The 35ft Seawind 1000XL will be on show for the first time at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show (May 24-27), and with 10 already ordered, its bound to be another very popular addition to an already superb cruising catamaran. The awarding winning Seawind 1160 will also be on display at this boat show.

Seawind Catamarans will be hosting a series of FREE daily seminars at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show on May 24-27, including:

1pm Daily - Seawind Syndicates
Learn all about the popular Seawind Syndicates that are not only cost effective, but also time effective. A few shares still remain in a Seawind 1160 Syndicate for the Whitsundays and a Seawind 1160 Syndicate for Manly.

2pm Daily - Charter Boat Ownership
Hear all about the benefits of charter boat ownership for the Whitsundays and other locations. There are dozens of Seawind’s operating in the Whitsundays and charter companies are demanding more.

3pm Daily - Heavy Weather Sailing on a Catamaran
Hosted by Professional Sailor and Seawind delivery skipper, Royce Black, hear how Seawinds have crossed the Tasman sea, sailed through the South Pacific and through a category 5 Cyclone!

Seawind have an especially designed stand including a floating conference and seminar center where these seminars will be held every afternoon during the boat show. This innovative show stopper will be an excellent opportunity for visitors to gain all the information on these topics without any obligation.

Seawind will also be displaying the new 35ft Seawind 1000XL plus the award winning 38ft Seawind 1160 catamarans, located on G Marina Arm.
