Coast Guard Foundation hires Ron LaBrec to lead the Mid-Atlantic

The Coast Guard Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to the education and welfare of all Coast Guard members and their families, announced today that Captain Ron LaBrec USCG (Retired), a resident of Virginia, recently joined the Coast Guard Foundation staff.
In his role, he will work closely with Coast Guard units in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States to identify and fulfill education, morale and family support for Coast Guard members.
"We welcome Ron to the Coast Guard Foundation team," said Susan Ludwig, president, Coast Guard Foundation. "We look forward to his work building on the core support we've provided the Coast Guard for almost 50 years through the generosity of our donors on the East Coast."
Bringing more than thirty years of service in the Coast Guard to his role at the Coast Guard Foundation, most recently, LaBrec served as Assistant Superintendent of the Coast Guard Academy. Recent posts include: Commanding Officer of Coast Guard Recruiting Command, Director of Public Affairs for the Coast Guard, and Chief of Training for the Coast Guard's Yorktown, Va., training center and the National Search and Rescue School, as well as prior operational assignments at sea and ashore. He is a 1989 graduate of the Coast Guard Academy and holds a master's degree from Boston University.

"I am honoured to work towards the benefit of the men and women of the United States Coast Guard as a member of the Coast Guard Foundation team."
