The World ARC 2018-19 fleet has officially arrived the land down under, Australia. Twenty two yachts have safely arrived Mackay Marina on the Queensland Coast, clearing Customs, Immigration and Biosecurity. Cayuse, Blue Pearl and Aranui were the first yachts to arrive. For many sailing across the Pacific Ocean, on their own yacht, arriving Australia is a lifelong dream realized.

The 1200 nautical mile sail from Port Vila, Vanuatu was especially delightful. "Our final Pacific Ocean sail was truly a champagne passage" remarked Rick, Skipper of Amara.

Festivities began on Friday night with sundowners at the Clarion Hotel where crews were able to share stories of their journey from Vanuatu and the incredible Hydrographers Passage. We also extend a hearty "welcome back" to former WARC boats re-joining the fleet here in Mackay, Aurora Polaris and Lydia.

The Mackay Marina provided a warm welcome to the fleet and offers a nice range of amenities. This weekend gives free time to participants to explore the local region as well as prepare the boat for free cruising time in Australia.
