Chichester Cruiser Racing Club (CCRC) is offering yacht owners in the Chichester area the chance to attend a free seminar to understand what is required to get involved in cruiser yacht racing.

Many leisure sailors enjoy comparing their performance to another yacht going in the same direction or already know that they would like to sail better. Such sailors would enjoy club racing but are perhaps uncertain how to start. If this is you, you might be interested in our cruiser racing seminar which will provide you with many of the answers you need.

One of CCRC's founding objectives is to provide friendly assistance to those new to, or interested in, racing and over the years we have introduced many yacht owners to the fun, competition and social side of racing.

In a couple of hours the seminar will cover an overview of boat preparation, sail trim, handicapping, starts, courses and finishing, the racing rules of sailing, CCRC race format and, not least, our club's social side. It aims to allay any misconceptions about the type of yacht or crew required to take part. The seminar finishes with a Q&A session.

The seminar is scheduled for the morning of Saturday 18th April 2020 and further details can be obtained via www.ccrc.co.uk/seminar-book

The Chichester Cruiser Racing Club (CCRC) was established in 1948 by the Chichester Harbour Federation of clubs to organise cruiser racing. CCRC provides high quality, low cost racing for yachts in Hayling Bay and the Solent. It has introduced many owners of cruisers (and cruiser racers) to the fun and competition of yacht racing. Our members have a wide range of yacht sizes and types as well as levels of experience.
