Bayliss Boatworks construction update: Bayliss 62' Seven

by Bayliss Boatworks 3 Aug 2020 13:45 UTC

Seven (Bayliss 62') is getting to that point in the build process where benchmarks seem to be flying by. In early July, the half-round and toe rail were installed then coated in faux-teak paint, along with the transom. Once the hull was faired and sanded to perfection by our Paint Crew, she was blanketed in final primer.

In the cockpit, the installations of the teak coaming and coverboards were completed in July. Lids have been hung on each compartment of the cockpit mezzanine and are now undergoing their own rounds of fairing and primer to match the hull. To finish this space before final paint, our Exterior Carpentry Crew is in the process of installing the teak cockpit deck.

On Seven's interior, the interior carpentry crew has completed build-out within the galley, dinette and master stateroom. Meanwhile, fabrication is under way in our cabinetry shop and installations have already begun within the heads, crew stateroom, and tackle room.

Over the course of the next month, our Metalworks Crew will be developing the electrical panels, hawse pipes, and anchor locker mount. The Mechanical Crew is currently running the chiller lines and our Electrical Crew is embarking on wire runs. In mid-August, Seven will move into the paint bay where she will transition into final paint!
