If you have ever been frustrated searching for information about a boatyard's environmental facilities, then you will be pleased to know that The Green Blue has now taken the hard work out of the search!

Launching this Friday (11th) at BOATS2020, the UK Marine Environmental Facilities Directory is a new interactive map that displays clearly the facilities available at each marina, boatyard and harbour.

The responsive mapping tool is a result of The Green Blue's Environmental Marine Facilities Survey that was carried out earlier this year. The Green Blue are the joint environmental programme between British Marine and the Royal Yachting Association. The Directory will be hosted on The Green Blue's website.

Kate Fortnam, Campaign Manager for The Green Blue, said: "We are so pleased to be able to share the UK Marine Environmental Facilities Directory with recreational boaters and being able to launch it with our Ambassador, Mike Golding OBE, at BOATS2020 makes it even more special.

"We hope that the resource will really aid boaters in making informed decisions with the facilities available. We're looking forward to the Directory growing and expanding as technology develops and more organisations install environmental facilities. We would like to say a huge thank you to all of the marine organisations that voluntarily participated in the survey and shared information about their environmental facilities with us."

The map will provide a resource for recreational sailors looking for their nearest environmental facilities on both inland and coastal waters throughout the UK. Facilities listed on the Directory include recycling facilities; hazardous waste disposal; pump out stations; black water/Elsan disposal; water refill points and filtered/bunded boat wash-downs.

The Green Blue's UK Marine Environmental Facilities Directory will be officially launched at 1pm on 11 September at BOATS2020, Stand BO16.

Alternatively, from the 11 September you will be able to find the UK Marine Environmental Facilities Directory on The Green Blue's website. The site also contains further information for how you can make your boating more sustainable with a range of online guides and downloadable resources.
