B&G announced as sponsors of RYA Cruising Conference

by Emma Cotton 17 Feb 2021 15:11 UTC 21 March 2021

Industry acclaimed designers, developers and manufacturers of sailing specific marine electronics, B&G®, has been announced as the event sponsor of this year's RYA Cruising Conference.

The conference will be taking place as an online event for the first time on Sunday 21 March. There has been much anticipation surrounding the event since the full line-up of speakers was announced last month. Intrepid explorer and sailor, Skip Novak, will be leading the event as keynote speaker and will be delivering an eye-opening talk on his 30 years of experience at cruising in high latitudes.

B&G, whose equipment can be found on many of the world's sailing yachts, will also be giving a short talk at the conference, giving insights into how the latest developments in on-board technology can enhance cruising experiences.

Simon Conder, Head of Brand B&G, said: "We are delighted to be supporting the RYA Cruising Conference 2021. As a brand, we develop products exclusively for sailing, this partnership is a great opportunity for us to help educate and share how technology is continuing to evolve, becoming an even more important part of everyday sailing, and how the systems and products are innovating and integrating to ensure the cruising sailor has all the information they need, when they need it."

Following the main speakers at the conference there will be a range of breakout sessions available for delegates to join, including, the evolution of nautical charts, the basics of setting up and using radar for navigation, how tides really work, as well as a refresh on the essential skills of rope management.

Delegates will also be able to learn all the latest updates on travelling to and from the EU and will have the opportunity to ask their questions directly to members of the RYA Cruising and Government Affairs team.

Richard Falk, RYA Director of Training and Qualifications, commented on the new sponsorship: "We're really excited to welcome B&G on-board with the RYA Cruising Conference. Their support of the event is fantastic and we're looking forward to delivering an energising and thought-provoking conference together."

The RYA B&G Cruising Conference takes place at 09:15-14:30 on Sunday 21 March 2021, bookings are available now. Places are free for RYA Members and just £10pp for non-members. You can view the full event agenda on the RYA website now.
