This first major sailing event this summer in New York Harbor will be the "Statue of Liberty 12 Meter Cup" on June 3-6, 2021.

12 Meters represent the epitome of American yachting tradition. These incredible boats competed for the America's Cup from the 1950s to 1987. 12 Meters are the most iconic sailboats in America. They are beautiful and breathtaking to watch.

This will be the first 12 Meter Regatta ever held in NY Harbor. Four 12 Meters have already entered and this number could grow to six.

Racing will take place in the Upper Bay between Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty and the Skyline of Manhattan. There will be three days of racing with two races each day.

If you are a sailor, you can get a group of friends together and charter one of the 12 Meters to race in this event. Racing will be non-spinnaker which will open the regatta to normal sailors, not just professionals. If you wish more information about entering your own team, please email . Four boats have currently entered and the regatta will be limited to six. There is only room for two more teams. If you wish to field a team to race in this great event, please act quickly.

For Individual sailors, there may be spots on some of the charer 12 Meters for you to buy a ticket and sail in a race. Sailing on a 12 Meter is a thrill of a lifetime. This will be an incredible experience. You can bring a friend, a family member or even business clients. You can live the sailing dream. And after sailing, you can hang out with the sailors and soak up the incredible regatta atmosphere. To join a waitlist for tickets on a race boat, please also email .

If you just want to watch the competition, there will be some official spectator boats which will get you up close to see the action. Details on the spectator boats will be announced in late April. But mark your calendar now so you keep these dates free.

And finally, there is expected to be opportunities to see the 12 Meters at dock each evening and some of the boats may offer private tours.

There will also be some great social events where sailing enthusiasts can meet some of the 12 Meter sailors.

Add you name here to the email list so you get advance notice before information and tickets go on sale to the public.

The Statue of Liberty 12 Meter Cup will start the resurgence of New York Harbor after a crushing year of COVID. Many of our friends already have the vaccine and everyone may be eligible by the end of May.

This is our great comeback year! It is time for us to come back to life and to make up for lost time. This regatta will help lift the spirits and show us the path forward.

Activities surrounding the Statue of Liberty 12 Meter Regatta will continue to evolve as the COVID situation dictates. Each team will be their own bubble so the racing will proceed. And all COVID protocols will be followed at the docks for any boat tours as well as at all the social events.

More details will be announced over the coming months. But set aside these dates now and tell your friends. This will be the first 12 Meter regatta in NY Harbor. There will be many ways you can participate. It will be a great start to the 2021 sailing season. Don't miss this summer's most exciting sailing event.
