Passage Planning
When planning your next passage, either locally or offshore, it is essential to know the best time of year to depart by comparing the average wind and wave conditions. This functionality replaces the need for pilot charts which have traditionally been the go-to tool for passage planning.
The Local Knowledge feature in PredictWind allows you to view other users' passage plans, or even set up your own. You can view 10-years of average historical weather data for the entire passage, allowing you to easily compare the data month to month.

Historical Location Weather Data
In addition to passages, all marinas, anchorages, and other Local Knowledge points of interest display the 10-year average historical weather data. This makes it easy to quickly view the average conditions you are likely to experience on your trip. With this accurate data, you're armed to make the best decisions for your next local or off-shore cruise.
Since launching Local Knowledge in May, we have doubled the number of locations to almost 9,000 locations! Thanks to everyone who contributed to this PredictWind community resource. We are excited by the amazing growth of this new feature.
