First ever Earthshot winners announced

The new Earthshot environmental prize initiated by Prince William has been awarded to five innovators including Coral Vita, who grow coral on land to return to the sea.

The Earthshot Prize is the most ambitious and prestigious of its kind - designed to incentivise change and help to repair our planet. Inspired by President John F Kennedy's Moonshot, which energized innovation in the 1960s, Earthshot focuses on five key aspects of earth's recovery needs: Nature, Air, Ocean, Waste, and Climate.

Five 1million £ prizes will be awarded each year for the next ten years, providing at least 50 solutions to the world's greatest environmental problems by 2030. It's not just a reward but rather an accelerator to help scale and implement the most innovative solutions.
