The Brisbane to Keppel Tropical Yacht Race has been cancelled due to the size of boats competing, and the amount of water at the entrance to Keppel Bay Marina or Rosslyn Bay Boat Harbour.
"The water is only 1.1m at LAT tide, and most of our race boats struggle to get in and out of there successfully" said Mark Gallagher, Race Director for the Brisbane to Keppel Tropical Yacht Race and Brisbane to Hamilton Island Yacht Race.
The Brisbane to Hamilton Island Yacht Race is, however, is in full swing, and three maxis are entered; Andoo Comanche, Black Jack and Hamilton Island Wild Oats XI. There are a variety of boats making up the fleet, from Multis right through to a Farr (Mumm) 30 at the smaller end of the fleet.
