The winds took the ARC Portugal fleet to the magnificent city of Nazaré, instead of Peniche as scheduled.
It was from mid-afternoon onwards that the first boats started to communicate with the rally control by VHF, saying that they were already approaching the finish line and would soon be in the marina.
For two and three days, the Clube Naval da Nazaré received the participants with the hospitality and friendliness that have always characterised them, ensuring that everyone was happy and could get their well-deserved rest.
After a programme full of activities in Figueira da Foz, the participants were able to enjoy the charms of this seaside city on their own and also enjoy a lovely lunch, organised and run by the Yellow Shirts' team at the Adega Oceano restaurant.
Throughout these days, participants gave good feedbacks of the town of Nazaré, highlighting some of the places and attractions they visited as a "must go", such as the Nazaré funicular, O Sitio, the Suberco viewpoint, the Fishermen's district, the Pederneira viewpoint, Nazaré beach, North beach, and the exhibition of traditional fishing boats.
Initially the regatta was going to stay in Nazaré marina for two days, however the weather conditions in relation to the wind meant that the stay was extended for an extra day for some participants.
On Thursday morning six boats left the Clube Naval da Nazaré and headed south to Oeiras marina, while the remaining thirteen boats set off early Friday.
