Join The Wireless Revolution with this Ground-Breaking Innovation in Performance and Safety

Innovators in load monitoring technology, Cyclops Marine love to be first. With their existing 'smart range' of wireless load sensors, they brought performance insights usually reserved for Grand-Prix race teams to sailors everywhere for the first time. Now, by applying their latest technology to Load Pins, they are bringing them into the 21st century with the world's first wireless pin for sailing yachts.

The value of accurate Load Pins is well-established, providing race teams with acute performance insights that allow them to optimise their rigs and win races, with live data in-race, and a wealth of logged data for performance-analysis. Load Pins also provide critical safety information that allows sailors to prevent catastrophic rig failure due to overloading. This being said, outside the world of high-performance racing, Load Pins are not currently commonplace.

Previously only available as hard wired solutions, Load Pins have always run the risk of wire damage, breakage, and water exposure. Until now they have been limited to locations that could be reached by wire, usually resulting in holes in the deck, leading to further risk of water ingress.

So, the minds at Cyclops Marine have moved to revolutionise the Load Pin, with the world's first wireless design for yachts. This remarkable innovation is totally self-contained and designed for permanent installation in the standing rigging of mono and multi-hull sailing yachts. Like the rest of the Cyclops range, it broadcasts data second-by-second via Bluetooth, accurate to within 1% of its maximum working load. This can be displayed via onboard displays, or via app for tablet, phone and smart watch. As working loads vary between boats, all Cyclops pins are custom-designed to best perform for the intended application.

Practical & Reliable

Cyclops Wireless Load Pins are incredibly easy to install. Designed as drop in replacements for existing pins in standing rigging, they eliminate the need to route cabling to the pin. They are pre-calibrated and ready to connect to your displays straight out of the box, with no need for recalibration.

All electronic parts are contained within the permanently sealed pin body, which hugely reduces risk of water ingress. A wireless charger fits smoothly on the sensor, with a single charge supplying 80 days of continuous load measurement at one reading per second. Power management can be adjusted to record higher or lower frequencies of data.

Performance Racing

Load data is key to getting the best out of your rigging and sails. Your Cyclops numbers provide live data for instant feedback to your team and recordings for post race analysis. Cyclops sensors are designed by sailors who understand the rigours of racing. As a result, the Cyclops Wireless Load Pin is incredibly robust, so you can have full confidence in its accuracy and integrity.

Suitable for a range of installations, including all those of a conventional pin, Cyclops Wireless Load Pins also open up new possibilities. The elimination of wires makes them suitable for above-furler installations on cruising or racing yachts. This provides a unique solution to measuring rig tension in structural furling systems. For non-structural furlers see smarttoggle sensors.

Confident Cruising

To date, Load Pins have typically only been used at the top level of high-performance racing, but with this new level of practicality, durability, and assured accuracy, they become an attractive proposition for safety and tuning on cruising boats. Live data provides a quick and easy way to set up a rig to a known setting for comfortable, efficient passages. Precise measurements provide reassurance that your rig is within safe loading limits and, when paired with several marine electronics brands, pins can display helpful dial readings with visual, colour-coded warnings if overload is approaching (pictured right). This is a particularly useful system for multihull cruising, when overload is far less evident.
