Commodore Escrich welcomes the first yacht to Marina Hemingway in 2023

Commodore Simon Currin, with his wife Sally, skippered SHIMSHAL into Marina Hemingway on New Year's Day 2023.

This January 1, 2023, at noon, Commodore Escrich received the sailboat Shimshal, the first vessel to sail to Marina Hemingway this year, this time coming from Bone Key and skippered by Commodore Simon Currin, the maximum authority of the Ocean Cruising Club, which Comodoro Escrich represents in Cuba as Port Officer.

In the afternoon hours of Wednesday, January 4, Commodore Escrich officially welcomed Mr. Currin and his wife Sally at the headquarters of the Hemingway International Nautical Club of Cuba, with the participation of members of this institution Cuban nautical.

With emotional words, Commodore Escrich thanked Commodore Currin for making this memorable visit that helps strengthen the bonds of friendship and collaboration with the English and international nautical community. As a sign of that appreciation, Commodore Escrich delivered Commodore Currin a commemorative plaque for the 30th anniversary of the Hemingway International Nautical Club of Cuba, which arrived last May 21, and a gallardete from this Cuban nautical institution.

For his part, Commodore Currin expressed feeling very happy and grateful for the quality hospitality received from the Hemingway International Nautical Club of Cuba and rated highly positive the work done by the Comodoro Escrich as Port Officer of Ocean Cruising Club in Cuba for visiting members of this cruising institution to Cuba. Commodore Escrich has been Port Officer of Ocean Cruising Club since the year 2000.
