Caribbean Sail Training announced today that the Port De Marigot will host once again one of their member vessels, the full rigged Tall ship Sørlandet, on the Galisbay pier on Sunday February 05, 2023 for an open ship day with free access to the general public.

The Norwegian full rigged Sørlandet is a member of Caribbean Sail Training, and more than 75 other vessels are also CST members.

It is already the third time that the Port de Marigot is hosting the tall ship Sørlandet.
She sails basically with youngsters of the A+ World Academy.
In cooperation with Caribbean Sail Training and the ship, sixteen year old Cécilia Pivin from Saint Martin and fourteen year old Claudia Vazquez from Puerto Rico have sailed as trainees some years ago during several weeks and Claudia later on embarked on an other voyage that took her to many countries and to Europe.

Open Ship Day

The 64.15m/210.5 ft sail training vessel Sørlandet will be open to the public for viewing from 1200 hrs until 1700 hrs.

A private reception on invitation only for Port Authorities, Press, Government and invited guests as well as CST members will be held as from 1800 hrs.

The ship will be docked at the Galisbay Pier in Marigot (commercial harbor). Visitors will have to park cars OUTSIDE the harbor and transport will be provided to reach the vessel and bring people back.

Walking in the port or driving cars in the port is strictly forbidden as well as smoking due to the vicinity of fuel supply lines.

A tent will be provided next to the vessel to give some shade to visitors and an information desk with Caribbean Sail Training information, public membership enrolment, T-shirt sales etc. will be available.
