On the opening day of the 2023 Cannes Yachting Festival, the Lorient Commercial Court in Brittany announced that Grand Large Yachting is to take over the assets and teams of Marsaudon Composites, a builder of high-performance catamarans, and its ORC brand.
Grand Large Yachting is delighted to be able to enhance its range of Blue Water Cruising boats with the addition of the ORC (Ocean Rider Catamarans) range, renowned for their performance and build quality. Whether for local or serious offshore cruising, ORC catamarans offer a lifestyle experience that complements that of the other brands in the Grand Large Yachting group (Allures, Garcia, Gunboat, Outremer and RM). This new acquisition will combine Marsaudon Composites' cutting-edge know-how with the expertise of the Grand Large Yachting group, the world leader in the ocean cruising market.
This morning's court decision confirms the takeover of the entire Marsaudon Composites team, numbering some 65 people.
"We're delighted to welcome current and future owners of ORC catamarans into our sailing community. Welcome everyone! We'll be starting work today with all the teams to relaunch the brand and begin writing a new chapter together!" says Xavier Desmarest, CEO of Grand Large Yachting.
The Cannes Yachting Festival, which runs from 12 to 17 September, makes for an opportunity to visit an ORC 57 on display alongside the group's other boats: Allures 51.9, Garcia Exploration 60 (World Première), Gunboat 72 (World Première), Outremer 52 (nominated for the title of European Yacht of the Year 2024), Outremer 55 and RM 13,80.
