Barton Marine launch Outboard Motor Sling

by Barton Marine 25 Sep 2023 07:00 UTC

Barton Marine launched a new Outboard Motor Sling alongside the market premiers of the Tuphblox Tufnol range and Carbon Fibre Tiller Extension series at the Southampton International Boat Show 2023.

Removing and installing an outboard motor from a dinghy or tender while afloat can be a notoriously stressful activity for boaters to undertake. The ever-present risk of a slip can mean the total loss of a valuable engine and a tricky explanation to the insurer. The Barton Outboard Sling removes the stress, allowing the Outboard Motor to balance evenly in the sling, and allowing fore and aft movement to enable alignment with transoms and outboard pads wherever the engine is installed or stored.

The Barton Outboard Sling is easy to install. An adjustable front strap is fitted to the motor's mounting bracket when the sling is first used and does not need to be removed. The strong woven Sling is then attached to the front strap with two carabiners and hooked under the back of the engine. It is suitable for engines ranging from 2-15 hp with durable stainless steel and UV stabilised fittings. The sling is perfectly paired with the Barton Skylock Block on a Davit to safely lift and hold an engine in a variety of situations. The Barton Outboard Sling (part number 88000) has an RRP of £44.50.

At the show, Barton Marine are also launching their new range of strikingly colourful Carbon Fibre Tiller Extensions. Lightweight, rigid, and immensely strong, the new Tiller Extensions are designed with a unique grip applied and double bonded by CFbyL&L into the full length of the shaft, allowing sailors to have full control however they are positioned onboard. Suitable for a huge number of dinghy classes with lengths of 975mm, 1250mm and 2500mm in stock across the vibrant colour range of Laser Blue, Ruby Red, Hot Pink and Black with Gold Weave. RRPs range from £119 to £280.

Tuphblox, Barton Marine's range of Tufnol Blocks are being reintroduced after several decades off the market. The range consists of over 60 blocks for use with lines from 8mm - 16mm on leisure and commercial vessels. Singles, doubles, triples, fiddles and cams are all part of the range. Tufnol® is lightweight and extremely durable, making long lasting blocks with a classic look and feel. They are a firm favourite among classic sailors and commercial users.
