Sydney Hobart – River Derwent Magic in stills and video

by John Curnow, Editor, Sail-World AUS 27 Dec 2023 20:42 UTC
LawConnect was in second place for just about all of the trip up the River Derwent, and did not attract much of the spectator fleet. She went from 3nm astern to 30m in front. What an effort! © Tony Lathouras

What a win! Certainly glorious for the Line Honours finish of the 2023 edition of the annual blue water classic, just not much wind...

Less than 0.5nm separates andoo Comanche and LawConnect as they close in on Battery Point.

Well done LawConnect on your glorious win in a fantastic tussle as you traversed Sandy Bay. Magic stuff indeed. Brilliant crew work capped it all off...

Now it remains to be seen if 90nm will be enough to head off the mini maxis. We'll see. In the meantime, go and celebrate!!! Chris Nicholson's first BTW...
