Dufour's 'Smart Electric' innovation is a significant advancement in marine propulsion technology. The batteries not only power the electric motor but also serve as an energy source for all onboard systems, allowing the 'Smart Electric Solution' to integrate seamlessly with how you live onboard. A hybrid electric motor replaces the large diesel engine and is powered by a substantial bank of lithium-ion and phosphate batteries charged by a 16kw generator.

The propeller also acts as a hydro generator while sailing, contributing to battery charge. Solar panels can offer an extra charging source, and when docked, shore power can recharge the batteries.
The battery capacity supports the overnight operation of a full air conditioning system without needing recharging, eliminating generator noise in peaceful anchorages.
