Zhik put women on the podium with industry first sizing options

by Zhik 8 Apr 17:30 UTC

Zhik, in a move that puts them at the forefront of women's water wear, has released the most comprehensive range of women's products in the brand's 20 year history.

The new wetsuit range has been designed by a female strong Zhik design team, together with no less than 45 Olympic, World Champion and Foiling athletes and industry sizing experts and includes improved fit and features, all dedicated to enhancing women's comfort and performance. The range is now available at Zhik.com and all leading retailers.

Hattie Rodgers, Waszp World Champion and long-time Zhik advocate put the new Yulex® Foam Natural Rubber X Range through its paces in the cold of British winter. "My favourite garment from the range is the Yulex® Microfleece X top, Hattie said, "I tested it in the middle of the UK winter whilst Waszp sailing and for someone like me who tends to get cold quickly, I stayed nice and warm throughout the session on the water and when packing up the boat afterwards. I've always found it easy to move in my Zhik kit but this top in particular allows me to sail without feeling restricted in any way."

Specifically designed to enhance womens experience on the water and fulfil the unique needs of female water sports enthusiasts, the improved fitting and sizing ensure that women can enjoy the same level of comfort and performance as men.

Stand-out features include:

  • Superwarm® fabric - for performing at your best in cold and freezing water.

  • Microfleece™ - for softness and comfort in all-round conditions.

  • Microfleece™ sleeveless top designed with interlocking smooth skin to fit with lower body garments.

  • 2 piece layering to allow women in and out of their kit with ease - no need to take everything off when you're short on time.

  • No more unisex sizing - enhanced 3-D female body-mapped design ensures second-skin fit with comprehensive range of sizing options.

  • Sustainable Yulex® Natural foam Rubber options for feel-good performance.

Liv Mackay, NZ Sail GP team and Live Oceon Racing Team Skipper said "It was great to be a part of the design process, Zhik have really thought about female sizing, comfort and performance."

Johnny Rodgers, Marketing Partnerships and Global Sponsorships Manager, said, "It's absolutely time women benefitted from the same attention to detail in design and production of high performance gear as men. We're proud to be leading the field in this area and champion the growth and achievements of women in sailing and the professional world."
