Beneteau Asia-Pacific is more than thrilled to announce that the Antares 8 is honored with the "Boat of the Year Japan 2023" (BOTY) award in the category of Best Fishing at the Japan International Boat Show Awards Ceremony took place on March 21st, 2024.
Created in 2008, the BOTY Japan award aims to acknowledge the best boats of the year, domestic or imported. Awards are presented in seven categories and one Grand Prix. The panel of judges is comprised of marine journalists and editors, industry insiders, racing drivers, expert anglers, yacht designers and etc.
The judges recognized the innovation and versatility embodied within the Antares 8 and described the reasons as follows: " In the Japanese fishing market, popular boats for fishermen were traditionally designed with a sole focus on practical aspects for fishing. However, the arrival of Beneteau Antares boats has changed our perception as fishermen.
The Antares 8 also provides us with ample space for owners to enjoy quality moments with family or friends after fishing.
The Antares 8 is stylish, sporty, compact, yet offers enough space for a weekend getaway with the family. Compared to the standard fishing boats in Japan, it is truly sensational!"
"Beneteau is really delighted to receive the Best Fishing Award category for the Antares 8 from BOTY Japan and we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all the juries. This year marks the 140th anniversary of Beneteau, and this award is the best gift we could have received. We would also like to express our gratitude to First Marine for representing the Beneteau brand in Japan for many years and for introducing the new Antares 8 Fishing model.
Fishing has evolved into a popular leisure activity worldwide, especially in Japan. With Beneteau's unremitting efforts in product innovation and onboard experience enhancement, the Antares range has also been evolved with new features and next-level comfort. The Antares 8 definitely elevates your adventures, whether it's for fishing or cruising!" said Erwan HER, Beneteau Sales Director, Asia Pacific.
Launched by Beneteau in 2021, the Antares 8 offers novel features designed specially for lovers of nautical pursuits, with a special focus on fishing enthusiasts. She comes in two versions, Cruising, which provides exceptional onboard comfort and conviviality, and Fishing, which has everything fishing enthusiasts may need.
Designed for physically demanding fishing trips, Antares 8 Fishing has an open cockpit that makes it easier to move around the boat; everything about is perfectly designed, right down to the smallest detail. The rear benchseat is replaced by a fishing station that comes with professional-grade rod holders. In addition to the recirculating livewell tank, this Fishing version also has three storage compartments under the cockpit sole, one of which can take a fish box.
Rod holders are fitted into the freeboards, and also on the roof's hardtop extension. The roof can also be fitted with a 12-inch display used to survey fishing grounds. Continuing our tour of the roof, there is a search spotlight in the rear, and a LED light at the front for better night-time visibility.
