The RS Elite Association is thrilled to announce its partnership with Zhik, sailing's most innovative clothing brand, for two flagship events in 2024.

Zhik's high-tech coastal racing range, known for its exceptional comfort and protection in all weather conditions while remaining lightweight and flexible, aligns perfectly with the performance and freedom of movement Elite sailors need.

For the first time, the National Championships will take place at the prestigious Royal Southern Yacht Club. With challenging racing and socialising in an impressive setting, the event promises to be a highlight of the year.

Several ex-national champions, including Ossie Stuart partnering with Mike McIntyre and Tom Hewitson, will go head-to-head against current champion Russel Peters, ensuring fierce competition. The newly implemented buddy system will further enhance the experience by promoting knowledge sharing among sailors of all levels.

In another first, the fleet will venture to the Norwegian fjords to join forces with the local sailing community. Fifteen teams will participate in exhilarating races while taking in the breath-taking scenery and enjoying the warm hospitality of the Tønsberg Seilforening Norway Sailing Club during the International Challenge.

With a strong fleet based at Hayling Island Sailing Club, the 2024 action kicks off in style:

  • RS 30th Anniversary Regatta: May 18th - 19th
  • Zhik Southern Championships: June 29th - 30th
  • Zhik National Championships at Royal Southern Yacht Club: July 4th - 7th
  • Tønsberg Seilforening Norway Sailing Club International Challenge: August 2nd - 4th

Current champion Russel Peters expressed enthusiasm, stating, "My team is looking forward to some excellent racing, and the Royal Southern will provide a professional event and a fantastic venue for socialising."

Zhik's Marketing Partnerships and Sponsorship Manager, Johnny Rodgers, emphasised the perfect match between Zhik and the RS Elite Fleet, "Our coastal range caters to keelboat racing's specific needs brilliantly, offering the highest level of waterproof protection and breathable manoeuvrability. We're excited our partnership will undoubtedly contribute to a thrilling 2024 season of racing for all sailors involved."
