Save the date from Monday 19th August to Thursday 22nd August 2024, for an unforgettable four-day event packed with excitement, sailing and fun as the Royal Lymington Yacht Club proudly presents their much-anticipated 2024 Youth Week supported by Walhampton School!

Following the success of last year, the event will continue to have four fleets: Gold, Silver, Bronze and Scows.

The Club is renowned for its top tier racing that rival even World and National Championship levels so competitors in the Gold and Silver fleets are in for some challenging racing that will keep them eagerly engaged.

This year, we're also enhancing our coaching program to provide young sailors in the Bronze fleet, with the support they need to boost their confidence and hone their skills on the water. With experienced instructors guiding them through fun-filled activities and shore-side games, participants will discover the joy of sailing in race conditions while making lifelong memories.

Thursday will be fun day, where competitors will join us in celebrating the spirit of athleticism and teamwork during our Olympic-themed day. We'll pay tribute to our very own Team GB sailors, Vita Heathcote, and Hannah Snellgrove, who once graced our Youth Weeks gone by and are now representing our country with pride.

In a positive display of community spirit, the Royal Lymington Yacht Club are also thrilled to announce a partnership with Walhampton School. This exciting collaboration stems from a longstanding relationship between the two institutions, forged through a shared passion for sailing and youth development. Over the years, Walhampton School has witnessed many of its students transition into active sailors, fostering a deep connection between the school and the sailing community.

As part of their commitment to community wellbeing and local partnerships, Walhampton School is lending its support to projects like ours, which have played a pivotal role in keeping our event inclusive and accessible to all. By contributing to initiatives aimed at reducing entry fees, Walhampton School is helping to ensure that every aspiring sailor has the opportunity to participate in this thrilling event.

Headmaster Johnny Timms expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, "We are delighted to join forces with the Royal Lymington Yacht Club in support of Youth Week 2024. It's inspiring to see the impact that sailing can have on young lives, and we are proud to play a part in making this event a truly inclusive and enriching experience for all."

The Royal Lymington Yacht Club extends its gratitude to Walhampton School for their invaluable support and looks forward to a successful collaboration that will benefit the entire community.

Online Registration opens on May 27th, offering sailors the opportunity to secure their spot and receive an exclusive event hoodie, ensuring they sail in comfort and style.

Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to be part of the Royal Lymington Yacht Club Youth Week 2024 and join us for a week of adventure, learning, and fun on the water!
