Mersea Week in its entirety is organised and run completely by volunteers and this year its 50th promises to be a truly fantastic event.

We are very fortunate to have the continued support of both West Mersea Yacht Club and the Dabchicks Sailing Club, here on Mersea Island. Great water fronting venues from which to organise and host the sailing and social events.

We are eternally grateful for the involvement and generosity of our sponsors. Marinestore Chandlery, Adnams, Pontoon Provider, Oakheart, Dolphin, Streets Whittles, City & Country, Fenn Wright, West Property Management, Fiducia, One Sails, Allen, Webdixign and Mersea Homes, without you, we would simply not be able to plan such an exceptional week of events - Thank You!

Last year we had an entry of nearly 200 boats of every description. With our many competitors varying ages there was indeed something for everyone. We are hoping for fantastic 50TH Anniversary weather and of course fair winds, but all our races will be adjusted to suit.

This year we begin on Sunday 18th August with an evening reception and welcome party for all competitors. We will conclude on Friday 23rd with the final prize-giving, some amazing prizes and a brilliant band and barbeque. If you are still on Mersea Island on the Saturday, you will see Island Life at its best with the Town Regatta taking place. This event concludes with a fantastic firework display - what is there not to like?

COME AND JOIN US There are races for all classes of Sail Boats - Dinghies - Keelboats - Open Boats - Smacks - Free Moorings - Daily and Weekly Prizegivings with Commemorative Glassware and additional Sponsor Prizes - Shoreside Activities - Accommodation Available on Land - Entertainment - Great Company.

We are also delighted to welcome the GBR IRC East Coast Championships, the Sonata East Coast Championships & the ILCA Grand Prix.

Entries are open at merseaweek.org and will close on Saturday August 10th at noon.

We provide free moorings for visiting yachtsmen and remember, the best sail of your life is waiting for you in the Beautiful Blackwater!
