Baltic Yachts is heading to Monaco Yacht Show (25th-28th September) with some exciting news. The Finnish shipyard, which for more than 50 years has been a world leading innovator in cutting-edge composite monohull yachts, is about to start the construction of its first ever multihull.

The design and engineering phases of the project are already at an advanced stage and the build is due to start this month. More details will be released prior to the start of Monaco Yacht Show where Baltic Yachts will be hosting clients and partners on its exhibition stand, QH4 on Quai L'Hirondelle, at the heart of the show in Monaco's Port Hercule.

The new CEO of Baltic Yachts, Tom von Bonsdorff, will be on the stand and available for meetings and discussions during the show, along with some of the shipyard's senior team including EVP Henry Hawkins and sales director Kenneth Nyfelt.

On display this year is Baltic 85 Mini Y, which is for sale via Edmiston and co-exhibited by Baltic Yachts at berth H08 in the Sailing sector. Designed by Bill Dixon, this 26-metre (85ft) cruising sloop is notable for her superb sailing performance, ease of handling and an innovative accommodation layout designed for just four guests, which includes an exceptionally spacious and luxurious owner's suite. Back in Finland, Baltic Yachts is concluding a highly successful launch season and looking to the future. Two new yachts were delivered over the summer: the Baltic 80 Emma, which is a maxi cruiser-racer designed by judel/vrolijk and the third Baltic 68 Café Racer. The yard also completed a transformational refit of the Baltic 175 Ravenger, the largest full carbon composite sloop in the world. Formerly a pure cruiser, she is now extensively optimised for high performance sailing with major upgrades to her rig, sailplan and sailing systems, plus a completely new interior and streamlined exterior styling.

Another new build, the Baltic 65 Custom, will be delivered this autumn and a variety of new build projects are in progress. These include the Baltic 121 Custom - a comfortable and powerful world cruiser designed by Malcolm McKeon, due for delivery in 2026 - and hull number four in the very successful Baltic 68 Café Racer mini series, which is nearing completion.

The shipyard's move from its original base in the village of Bosund was completed in June. The whole workforce now on one site, at Baltic Yachts' waterfront HQ in the town of Jakobstad, where the new hi-tech production halls are already reducing the yard's production footprint and delivering significant gains in efficiency.

'It's an exciting time here at Baltic Yachts with another major milestone project about to start and the whole team beginning to see real benefits and opportunities now that we're fully moved into our new, state-of-the art production base,' says Baltic's EVP Henry Hawkins. 'And we're looking forward to Monaco Yacht Show, which is always a great place to catch up and connect with many of our clients and partners.'
