The Eurocup Series 29er 2025, as part of the 10th Comunitat Valenciana Olympic Week, is starting a new journey at the Real Club Náutico de Valencia.

The international regatta hosted by the Valencian club will be held from Thursday 13th February, concluding on Sunday 16th. A regatta that welcomes 86 entries (172 sailors as it is a double class) from 18 countries, with a programme of 16 races scheduled over the four days.

There is a high level among the 29er fleet, the youth class and the prelude to the Olympic 49er, in which the two Spanish crews are the two most important assets: Sara and Isa Momplet, sailing for the RCN Valencia, and the tandem formed by Francisco Truyols and Ignacio Martín, from the RCN Palma.

At the international level, France, Austria, Great Britain, Switzerland and Poland are the most represented in the capital of the Turia. Among them is the Frenchman Titouan Gresset, fourth at the last World Championships in Aarhus, Denmark, as well as the Briton James Crossley, fifth at the Danish event, although he is now competing with the female Eliana Edwards. There is also Finian Morris, from the same country, with 11th place in the last World Championships, in which Alicja Dampc, third in the women's category, and the Spanish Momplet, fifth, also stood out.

The start time for the four days of 29er racing has been set at 12.00 hours, subject to change.

ILCA and A-Class accompany 29er fleet

Within the programme of the Olympic Week, an international regatta with four venues: Santa Pola, Alicante, Torrevieja and Valencia, organised by the Sailing Federation of the Valencian Community, the RCNV welcomes the ILCA 6 (55), ILCA 7 (22) fleets, starting their participation on Friday 14th, and the A-Class, which will start on Saturday 15th, with a good participation which will close this Friday.

In the ILCA 6, the reigning Spanish champion Lara Sabina Himmes (RCR Alicante) stands out above all, as well as the great local talents, such as Blanca Ferrando, Quique Ferrando, Guillem Balaguer, Maria Stapiñska and Lara Rondalli, not to mention Sheila Martínez (CN Campello), who leads the ILCA 6 ranking of the FVCV.

As for the A-Class, the title looks set to stay at home, with a greater presence at the event. Toni Ballester and Abdón Ibáñez, both from the RCNV are in the running for a place on the podium next Sunday.
