Registrations are officially open for the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup 2025, taking place from 7th to 13th September.

The event is organised by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in collaboration with the International Maxi Association (IMA), and with the support of title sponsor Rolex.

The Notice of Race, containing full details of the event, was published this morning and is available online here. The regatta is open to maxi yachts and multihulls with a minimum length of 60 feet.

The 35th edition of the event promises top-level competition, and will feature world championships for both the Maxi 1 Class - reserved for high-performance maxis with an IRC time correction coefficient (TCC) of 1.700 or above - and the Maxi Grand Prix Class, which includes the pure racers that previously belonged to the Maxi72 class. The inaugural Rolex IMA Maxi 1 World Championship was held last year, and saw Joost Schuijff's Leopard 3 triumph among the 10 competing yachts.

This year will also mark 40 years since Rolex became title sponsor of the event in 1985. Over the decades, the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup has become a key event in maxi yacht racing, and has long been considered the world championship for maxis. Held every September in Porto Cervo, the regatta attracts world-renowned sailors alongside an imposing fleet of vessels that showcase innovation, design and cutting-edge performance.

The Skippers' Briefing and Welcome Cocktail on the panoramic terrace at the YCCS will officially open the event on 7th September, with racing around the islands of the La Maddalena archipelago commencing on 8th September. The Final Prizegiving Ceremony will take place on 13th September in Piazza Azzurra.

Registrations for the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup are open until 30th July 2025. The Notice of Race and Entry Form are available online here.
