Tenzor International Cup - J/70 Open Winter Series 2024-2025 - Stage 5 Overall

Bogatyrs crowned series champions while Orient Express takes the Corinthian title

Turkish Aspat Bay welcomed 21 J/70s boat for the fifth and final stage of Tenzor International Cup - J/70 Open Winter Series 2024-2025 joined with 1st Leg of Turkiye Tour Series. The regatta took place from April 10-13 in different weather conditions with sun and winds up to 22 knots on the first and last race day and very light wind in the middle of competition.

"We pushed our luck to the limit as we were behind schedule with four races after two days. On the last race day we had four more tough races and almost all of them had the Charlie pennant in our pocket due to the shifting wind. But I'm sure all the racers got tired of fighting the wind from 300 to 350 degrees. Although we were worried about the wind, which reached speeds close to the safety limit, but we successfully managed to completed the day's racing with a high degree of difficulty", - concluded Can Giray, the PRO of regatta.

After eight races in total, it was Bogatyrs crew of Igor Rytov, Konstantin Besputin, Anton Sergeev and Alexander Patrushev who won with two firsts and two seconds for 15 points net. Taking the silver was Onur Erardag's Nautique Yachting crew with one first and two seconds in their tally for 26 points net. Rounding out the podium was Andrey Pushkin's Tenzor Team with 32 points net.

Last race day was very successful for Dolce Vita skippered by Inna Balashova who managed to win one race and to be in top-5 in three others. The team finally finished 4th in overall, making a great jump of 6 places up ahead of Hubex team led by Kirill Frolov and other rivals.

The top Corinthian team, finishing 6th overall, was the Turkish Orient Express, composed of Arif Gurdenli, Pavel Karachov, Bugra Hadimoglu and Efe Sezik.

Teenage team skippered by Pavel Grachev (7th), Gaswar led by Alexander Romanov (8th), Ameera Jet helmed by Onur Mandalinci (9th) and Maksim Batrakov's Bars Sailing Team completed the top-10 of this Stage.

Considering the season overview with the conclusion of the second edition of the Tenzor International Cup - J/70 Open Winter Series 2024-2025 the overall series champion was Bogatyrs skippered by Igor Rytov who overtook Tenzor Team of Andrey Pushkin in very tight fight in just last stage of the Series. Dolce Vita reached a 3rd place on podium.

In Corinthian division Orient Express was crowned as a champion followed by O1 Properties and Ada JR teams.

This season saw remarkable participation, with 30 teams and international staff of sailors from Turkiye, Russia, Italy, France, Belarus and Ireland competing. Across the five events and 38 challenging races the series were completed with a great success. The next season will be continued in December for another thrilling year of competition.
