Entries are open for the fourth edition of the Royal Channel Islands Yacht Club's Nick Cousins Memorial Spring Regatta, scheduled to run from Friday to Sunday 16th to 18th May.

Following a welcoming reception, skippers' briefing and the issue of regatta shirts in the Clubhouse on Friday evening, competitors can look forward to two full days of fun and great sailing for cruiser, sportsboat, dayboat, dinghy and sport-catamaran classes. With over thirty years as a star event in the Island's racing calendar, the Regatta is for locals and visitors, alike, providing a great opportunity for all sailors to get afloat and compete, irrespective of age or experience.

Blessed with fair weather, competitors and spectators will, again, witness the stunning spectacle of some seventy boats, or more, racing both within and off the beautiful confines of St Aubin's Bay. The race programme includes two to three races per day, subject to class, with place prizes for every class on both days. Two independent race committee boats will run the programme, one for the cruiser and F18 sport catamaran fleet operating to the south of the Bay, the other running the 'small' boat programme well within the confines of the Bay. Courses for the cruiser and F18 fleets will be 'around' the cans', a combination of fixed and laid marks, whilst the dinghy, dayboat and sport catamaran classes will race over courses laid in the Bay.

Importantly, along with other events, the Spring Regatta counts in the RCIYC annual inshore championships for cruiser/racers and the Club's large fleet of Hobie Cats.

A full social programme awaits competitors after each day's racing, including a Regatta dinner on Saturday evening and the place prize-giving and supper in the Clubhouse on Sunday evening. Perpetual trophies, for overall performance, will be presented at the Club's next annual prize-giving and dinner.

Full details and entry instructions for this classic event are contained in the Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions, available on www.rciyc.je/racing. Entries close on Tuesday 13th May.

Further details may be obtained by calling the Club Administrator on +44 (0) 1534 745783 or by e-mailing
