Team Spain dominates in the International Friendship League Championship 2025

by Real Club Náutico de Madrid 15 Jun 20:28 UTC 13-15 June 2025

Juan Pablo de Diego's team is proclaimed champion in this Soling class regatta held on the San Juan reservoir. The German Roman Koch takes the silver medal while Carlos Elosegui takes the bronze in a day marked by little wind.

Spain has given its best in the International Friendship League Championship 2025 in the Soling Class, after the third day of the competition closed today at the San Juan reservoir in Madrid. A day in which the final series began with the Gold (8) and Silver (7) groups and which has been marked by the little wind, with postponement on land until after 16.00 hours, being able to close only one race for the Gold group.

In a very complicated racing area due to the scarce and unstable wind, the Spanish teams have made a great effort to be protagonists on the podium, successfully achieving the title and the third place on the podium.

The crew of Juan Pablo de Diego, with his brother José Manuel and Julio Soria (RCN Madrid) have closed the event that has been held in the RCN of Madrid since last Friday with a partial victory that has given them the title of champion. Second place went to the German boat led by Roman Koch (Segelclub Asel Sued) with locals Alex Hasenclever (CN San Isidro) and Guillermo Héctor Parodi (RCN Madrid), while bronze went to Carlos Elosegui, with Joaquín Gómez and Juan Ramón Jiménez, all sailing under the RCN de Madrid banner.

The top ten of this international Soling class event is closed together with De Diego, Koch and Elosegui, with Björn Geisler (Germany | E. Segel-Verein '86); Jaime Alonso-Allende (RCN Madrid); Víctor Pérez (C.M. San Antonio de La Playa); Matias Collins (USA); Kiko Villa in ninth place and Francisco Javier Pérez in tenth place, both from the RCN de Madrid.

The trophy ceremony was attended by Michael Dietzel, representative of the International Soling Class; Tomás Peuvrel, National Soling Secretary; Tobi Carrasco, President of the RCN of Madrid, accompanied by David Peralta, Commodore.
