Wellcraft reveals three new 28-foot models: built to push limits, made to explore together

by Wellcraft 13 Sep 12:54 UTC

Wellcraft is thrilled to unveil not one, but three new 28-foot models built to conquer new territories: the Wellcraft 28 Speedster, the Wellcraft 28 T-Top, and the Wellcraft 28 Explorer.

Each shares the same cutting-edge hull design, while answering different needs: either open-air freedom with or without T-Top, or a fully protected wheelhouse for exploring distant shores. Together, they expand Wellcraft's global reach by combining thrilling performance, and accessibility, delivering a bold, sporty and competitive offering — built for both casual boaters and passionate explorers.

The Wellcraft 28 T-Top and Wellcraft 28 Explorer will make their World Premiere at boot Düsseldorf 2026. The North American Debut of the Wellcraft 28 T-Top will be at the Miami International Boat Show in February 2026.

More ways to explore together

The new Wellcraft 28 models are built with one mission: to turn every day on the water into an exploration to share — and to adapt to every lifestyle. To achieve this, Wellcraft imagined not just one but four distinct aft cockpit configurations, each transforming the way boaters can live on board.

The LOUNGE comes standard — a layout built for sharing the sea. Accommodating up to 13 people, including 9 forward-facing seats for optimal safety at speed, it's the most social setup for boaters who love to entertain.

With the BARRACUDA layout, the boat reveals a different character — clever fold-up seating bench with live well, fish box, bait drawers, and various rod holding solutions turn the aft deck into a true family fishing platform.

Both Wellcraft 28 T-Top and Wellcraft 28 Speedster can be transformed into sun lover's paradise by RELAX aft cockpit layout arrangement with a large sunbed, hidden storage, and additional seating.

Finally, the SLEEPER layout, exclusive to the Explorer, brings unexpected overnight comfort with two berths, combined with smart exterior lounging space.

By rethinking the aft cockpit as the beating heart of the boat, Wellcraft ensures that every model can adapt to the way its owners want to live the sea.

Performance that defines a category

Every model benefits from the Wellcraft Infujection Structure Engineering (W.I.S.E.) technology — an infusion/injection combo where the hull and stringers are molded as a single part. This innovation delivers a lighter, stiffer, and stronger structure with an optimized power-to-weight ratio and reduced environmental impact.

To build the 28-foot line Wellcraft has choosen to partner with Navia, the renowned Helsinki-based specialist in stepped hulls. Thanks to this hull design, the result is a boat that planes and accelerates faster, runs drier, and handles rough seas with absolute confidence. With single or twin outboards, the Wellcraft 28 can exceed 50 knots while offering excellent fuel efficiency and superior stability.

Light, responsive, and powerful: these models guarantee an outstanding dynamic driving pleasure, with thrilling explorations and unparalleled convenience.

Built for the sea - built to protect

Safety and confidence are built into every Wellcraft — and the new 28-footers are no exception. With a closed transom, high bulwarks, oversized handrails, distinctive rubrails, a dive door, and solid forward-facing seats, every feature is built to inspire confidence in all conditions. The one-level walkaround deck ensures seamless circulation, while the Wellcraft 28 T-Top further adapts to all conditions with a choice of High or Sport windshield options.

Reinforced by a bold silhouette and Wellcraft's iconic Z-shaped line, these models embody American strength, European style, and global appeal — backed by NMMA certification.

The new Wellcraft 28 T-Top, Wellcraft 28 Speedster and Wellcraft 28 Explorer mark the beginning of a new chapter: one of more versatile, accessible, and more social exploration — all without compromising on performance or the unmistakable Wellcraft spirit.
