iQFOiL Youth & Junior European Championships set to thrill in Arzachena

by iQFOiL Communications 18 Oct 17:31 UTC 18-25 October 2025

The stunning waters of North Sardinia are about to welcome the 2025 European Youth & Junior Championships, hosted by Club Nautico Arzachena. Taking place from 18 to 25 October, the regatta will bring together 306 of Europe's most talented young sailors from 28 nations for the final high-stakes event of the season.

Set against the backdrop of Sardinia's dramatic coastline, the championship promises a challenging and exhilarating experience. At this time of year, the region delivers steady yet unpredictable autumn breezes and Mediterranean swells that demand tactical precision and physical endurance. Competitors must navigate shifting gusts and complex currents, an environment where strategic thinking and adaptability will prove just as critical as boat speed.

This event marks the season's final opportunity for Europe's rising stars to showcase the results of months of training and competition. It is a chance to consolidate experience, refine techniques, and leave a lasting mark on the international stage. The pressure is high, the competition fierce, and the stakes couldn't be greater.

The U19 Women's fleet features a stellar line-up, including the full 2025 World Championship podium: reigning World Champion Media Falcioni (ITA), Vice-Champion Francesca Maria Salerno (ITA), and bronze medallist Nurhayat Güven (TUR). A fierce battle is expected as these top athletes vie for the European crown.

In the U19 Men's division, Artun Senol (TUR), silver medallist at the 2025 Worlds, and Mattia Saoncella (ITA), who took bronze, will aim to convert their global success into European triumph.

The U17 Girls' category will see another high-profile showdown, with Théa Le Borgne Zibetti (FRA), Naama Palatnik (ISR), and Parla Kabasakal (TUR)—the full World Championship podium—set to renew their rivalry in Sardinian waters.

The U17 Boys' fleet will feature World Champion Merlijn Boswijk (NED) and bronze medallist Finn Brüll (NED), both ready to defend their status. With silver medallist Peyton Dits having moved up a class, the stage is set for new challengers to emerge.

As the best of Europe's youth prepare to compete, the 2025 European Youth & Junior Championships are set to deliver a spectacular week of racing, defined by skill, courage, and sportsmanship. More than a competition, this regatta embodies the spirit of youth sailing: passion, perseverance, and the pursuit of excellence. It promises to be a fitting conclusion to an inspiring season of international junior sailing.
