Get the basics right with Henri-Lloyd's Merino Base Layers

Wearing the best base layers is key to being comfortable on and off the water, whatever the weather.

Henri-Lloyd's Merino wool base layers are designed to help regulate the body temperature and keep moisture away from the skin, preventing chills and maintaining comfort in changing conditions. Designed to work even in temperatures down to -25 degreesC, targeted thermal zones in the base layer tops and pants deliver more insulation around key areas on the body.

Manufactured from 100% Merino Wool, the Henri-Lloyd Merino 200 base layers balance warmth, breathability and odour resistance making them ideal not only for sailing and boating, but other sports such as cycling, running, skiing and other year-round outdoor activities. The moisture-wicking quick-drying soft wool is antimicrobial and designed to be machine washed at a gentle 30 degreesC cycle.

There is a choice of long sleeve tops offering the Merino 200 Zip Top, or Merino 200 round neck option, available in black and grey in both men's and women's sizes and both retailing at £85. Whilst designed to be slim fitting, the soft wool enables comfortable unrestricted movement. Details include coverstitch seams for longevity.

The full-length pants feature a satin elasticated waistband for comfort, with a cuffed leg for secure layering. Also available in men's and women's sizes, in black and grey, the Merino 200 Pant retails at £85.

Henri-Lloyd ambassador Sam Goodchild agrees that getting the basics right is key. He says: "When you're offshore, you live in the same gear for days. My Henri-Lloyd Merino baselayers keep me warm when it's windy and cold, breathe when the sun's out, and somehow don't smell no matter how long I wear them. They are always in my kit bag whenever I leave the dock."
