The 8th Portugal Grand Prix got off to an exciting start today under a flawless sunny sky. The event brought together 248 sailors and 68 coaches from all corners of the globe, competing across the ILCA 6, ILCA 7, 49er, and 49er FX classes.

As a 100-point event counting towards the World Sailing Ranking, the Grand Prix has attracted elite crews eager to secure crucial points for their international standings.

The first day delivered plenty of action on the water. The 49er fleet completed two thrilling races, and the 49erFX three, while the ILCA fleets sailed one competitive race each. With steady winds and bright sunshine, crews were tested on skill, strategy, and endurance, producing exciting duels and impressive performances right from the start.

The 8th Portugal Grand Prix promises several more days of high-level sailing, with athletes from multiple continents pushing their limits in pursuit of top honors.
