Porsche Centre Brisbane Dealer Principal David Crosdale and Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron (RQYS) Commodore Curtis Skinner today proudly announce their major partnership with the International Finn Association of Australia (IFAA), commencing with the month-long National & World Finn Championships in February 2026. These prestigious sailing events are a natural fit between the 140-year-old yacht club, IFAA and the Porsche luxury brand.

The Finn sailing dinghy is a single-handed, former Olympic class sailing boat that debuted at the summer Olympics in Helsinki in1952. It is physically demanding to sail at a high performance level, which adds to the excitement of this event.

Porsche Centre Brisbane is celebrating 75 years of Porsche Cars in Australia:

This milestone represents more than just a number; it highlights Porsche's longstanding heritage, commitment to innovation, and passion shared with Porsche enthusiasts across the country. Porsche Centre Brisbane is proud to be part of this national celebration and to continue supporting the brand's legacy in Queensland. The Finn events' focus on excellence and peak performance mirrors the spirit of the Porsche brand, creating an authentic and compelling alignment.

Porsche Centre Brisbane Dealer Principal David Crosdale said, "Porsche's history is deeply rooted in precision engineering and pushing the limits of what's possible. These same values underpin the sport of sailing, and particularly the Finn World Championships. This partnership is a natural fit with Porsche".

Commodore Curtis Skinner from Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron echoes these sentiments, saying "we are honoured to develop this partnership with Porsche Centre Brisbane, and form a new alliance between land and sea. As a Club built on a strong foundation and long-standing history, we are excited to work together to enhance the sport of sailing and promote the Porsche brand in the community."

The Finn Regattas will be hosted by RQYS at Manly, Queensland and will commence with the Australian Finn National Championships from 7th-12th February 2026, followed by the Finn Gold Cup from 13th-19th February 2026 and the Finn World Masters from 20th-27th February 2026. All of which are expected to attract over 500 competitors and supporters from around Australia and the world. These events were secured through the tireless efforts of IFAA members and RQYS, resulting in the extraordinary achievement of bringing the Gold Cup back to Brisbane for the first time in 50 years. In another first, the Finn World Masters will be contested in the Southern Hemisphere and back-to-back with the Finn Gold Cup.
