2026 Melges 24 U.S. National Championship at Grand Traverse Yacht Club - Day 1

Grand Traverse Bay delivered a spectacular opening day at the 2026 Melges 24 U.S. National Championship, with 46 teams completing four races.

Bora Gulari's Mavi claimed two race wins and leads the event over defending champion Cuyler Morris' Dark Horse in second place, with both teams tied at 16 points.

Laura Grondin's Dark Energy and Peter Duncan's Shiitake are equally close on 19 points, while Lindsey Duda's Sin Duda! leads the 26-boat Corinthian fleet after an energetic first day in Traverse City.
