The New Zealand Match Race Team are through to the quarter finals at Miami OCR - ISAF World Cup.

Today the team had their final two races in the repechage round. Conditions were a little lighter, but still pleasant for racing.

The regatta is the second round of the 2011 ISAF World Cup Series.

The team won the race against Portugal and lost against USA. So at the end of the day, NZL won 4 races and lost 1 in the repecharge round robin. The Kiwis were tied for first and were ranked second on count back.

Tomorrow the quarter finals begin and the pairings are:
GBR vs NZL
RUS vs USA
AUS vs FRA
FIN vs USA

Four (GBR, USA x2, NZL) of the eight quarter final spots are held by teams that were in Pool C in the initial round of the regatta.

Day 3 Report

Today Koru Match sailed part of the repecharge round. There are six teams (NZL, USA, DEN, NED, POR and FRA) sailing a round robin to determine who receives the final two quarter final spots at the Miami OCR Regatta.

Again conditions were favourable, with a steady 10 knots and 20-25 knot squalls coming through the bay.

The team had 3 wins (DEN, NED, FRA) and 0 losses today. Highlight of the day was the last race against the Netherland girls. The race was full of lead changes and y-flag protests which resulted in the Netherland's receiving a penalty in the final run as the NZ team secured their win.

The final two matches in the repechage have been scheduled for tomorrow.

Koru Match comprises: Stephanie Hazard (Helm), Susannah Pyatt (Bow) and Jenna Hansen (Trimmer)
