Blue Eco Range from Henri Lloyd

Blue Eco Range from Henri Lloyd Colin Burgess
The launch of the Blue Eco collection saw Henri Lloyd become the first international marine clothing company to engage in an infinite recycling programme, which marked the start of what Henri Lloyd believe will be an important journey to reduce the environmental impact of their operations and act as a catalyst for others in the industry to follow suit.

Since the original launch Henri Lloyd have built upon its expertise and produced a wider choice of performance sailing wear using the same ‘infinite loop’ system including the Blue Eco Bomber Jacket, Fleece Jacket, Fleece Hat, Fleece Scarf, Neck Gaiter and Fleece Gloves.

The Blue Eco products are all manufactured using highly regarded TP Eco recycled polyester fabric developed by Teijin – a Japanese company specialising in developing environmentally friendly products and services. Using ECO CIRCLE™ (Teijin’s revolutionary recycling system) Henri Lloyd were able to produce the first ever entirely sustainable sailing wear through its own Blue Eco ‘infinite-loop’ recycling system.

The ‘infinite-loop’ system means that customers can return worn-out Blue Eco products to Henri Lloyd for recycling through Teijin’s revolutionary fibre-to-fibre recycling facility. The recycled raw material is then broken down into new, highly durable polyester fibres and engineered into recycled fabric that is used for the manufacture of new technical clothing. This process brings new life to precious resources many times over.

One of the most versatile products in the range is the multi-purpose Blue Eco Bomber Jacket which is 100% waterproof, windproof and highly breathable and has been designed to be worn as an outer shell as well as part of a layering system. The jacket incorporates a Super DWR finish to repel water from the surface of the jacket, a fleece lining for thermal insulation, a two-way non-corrosive front full length zip and features welded side pockets with water resistant zips. Like all products in the Blue Eco range, the Bomber Jacket is machine washable and available in sizes XS-XXL.

The other items available this year are the Blue Eco Fleece Jacket, Blue Eco Fleece Hat and the Blue Eco Neck Gaiter. All come in carbon and ideal for those colder days both on and off the water
