Weather and Sailing, Ireland: An inaugural seminar held by the Royal Institute of Navigation

For a number of years now, the Royal Institute of Navigation has run the popular biennial Weather and Sailing Seminar in the UK, in conjunction with RMetS.

Following on from this success, the Institute has decided to extend the reach of this Seminar by offering the opportunity for members and non-members alike to attend a similar event in Dún Laoghaire, Ireland.

The Royal Institute of Navigation, the Irish Meteorological Society (IMS) and the Royal Irish Yacht Club (RIYC) are therefore pleased to announce the holding of a Conference on "Weather and Sailing" at the RIYC in Dun Laoghaire on Friday, 23 November, 2018. The Conference is supported by Dublin Port.

The Conference will bring together sailors and meteorologists to share their experience and expertise in what promises to be an informative and enjoyable event. The provisional list of speakers is given below. The Conference begins at 0900 and finishes at 17:30.

The Conference fee is €30, payable on registration. Lunch at the yacht club is included.

Dun Laoghaire is very well served by transport links including the Dart.Dun Laoghaire is the station to alight from.

Please note that parking at the RIYC is for members only. However,there are excellent parking facilities nearby, including three multi-story car parks, within easy walking distance.
